Hello and thank you for helping us help others!

The House of Good Deeds gladly accepts donations of new and like-new clothing, shoes, housewares, electronics, toiletries, and cleaning supplies, as well as food (frozen, fresh, and shelf-stable). Unfortunately, affordable storage is non-existent these days so we can’t take anything bulky or breakable, which means books and unmatched plates/glasses are out. Dropoff locations are available on West 42nd Street (24/7) and East 65th (by appointment), plus our volunteers pick up sorted bagged and labeled donations directly from homes and offices at least once every week from every part of NYC. Contact us with your address and time frame if you want to coordinate a pickup.

For larger items like furniture and full-size appliances, we have a Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1559470104067269 - where donors can post clear photos and descriptions (including brands, sizes, etc). Some of the best posts also get featured on our Instagram and regular Facebook pages (@theHouseOfGoodDeeds). Once you find a recipient, usually within a day or two, you can coordinate the pickup of those larger items directly with them at a time convenient for all parties.

Our nonprofit is completely donation-driven and we give away nearly everything we get, so please contribute financially towards our expenses to our driver or online through our website at HouseOfGoodDeeds.org, @Altruists on Venmo, @HouseOfGoodDeeds on PayPal, Patreon.com/HoGD, or via our Facebook Annual Fundraiser (https://www.facebook.com/donate/1135730394468320) - plus please let us know if your workplace provides financial support or donation matching for local charities? We can provide a tax-deductible receipt for all your support if you would like one.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Have a great day!
